Under 9/4

U9/4 Round 14

Result: Loss 2-4 v West Ryde Rovers

SCORERS: ZAC HARRIS 1, WEST RYDE ROVERS 1

Although we had all intentions of winning today, we just couldn’t do it.
WRR were also focused to win and they did.
With some excellent saves in goal we just couldn’t save 4, although we got one in goal for ourselves and WWR got one for us too making the score 2-4.

Still need to work on not bunching up so much and spreading out more over the field.
We did however defend so much better today but not enough to stop those goals.
All in all the players made a great effort.

We were down 2 players, Craig with still a broken arm and Will on holidays. Missed you guys today.

Player of the Week went to Jeremy for consistent effort. Well done Jeremy.

U9/4 Round 12

Result: 5-0 Win v Eastwood St Andrews

SCORERS: NIXON 2, ZAC 2, BLAKE 1

Chilly wet start for the early game but the kids warmed up quickly.

We won 5-0 today; Nixon with two, which one was set up nicely with Riley’s help, Zac with two great goals and Blake with another brilliant one. They played really well, much better than last week. They kept their positioning a lot more this game, which I think helped with the win.

Sam and Will were our goalies today and did a fantastic job. Aidan and Jeremy our great defenders in the back and Ethan, Shauny and Matthew our centres all did a fantastic job today bringing the ball down to our end. Great teamwork from all the guys and girl.

Player of the Week went to Ethan for a brilliant game.

U9/4 Round 11

Result: 0-2 loss v Roselea

Nice to see the sun again on a crisp Saturday morning. Helped the kids thaw out as well as us parents

Sam was our fantastic goalie in the first half and Matthew did an awesome job in the second half.

We didn’t play as well as we normally do but worked hard defending the ball.
So many attempts to get that ball into the goals but just quiet didn’t make it in.

Aidan play brilliantly, he’s such a great defender.
Jeramy in the back defended his area and passed to his team mates.
Zac, Riley and Shauny in attack mode getting the ball off the other team, while Nixon, Ethan and Will got the ball and took it down our end.

Roselea’s team were just too good for us today, we beat them last game….they won this time.
I suppose that make us equal : ).

Player of the week went to Zachary ……well done Zac!

U9/4 Round 7

Result: Win 2-1 v West Ryde Rovers

SCORERS: William Dearden – 2

Today’s match against the West Ryde Rovers was extremely close and was a “nail biter” right to the last seconds for the kids (and parents).

Well done team on delivering the goods with the forwards, centres, backs and goalie all busy due to the close nature of the game. We saw both PHD goals set up nicely with a significant amount of passing to achieve them. We especially noticed a great run by Aidan Sumskas for approx. 2/3 of the field which effectively set up one of the goals.

Player of the week went to Blake Bridgewater who had a great game. He was enthusiastic in his intercepts in defense and then passed the ball on a regular basis to his team mates.

U9/4 Round 5

Result: Win 2-0 v Eastwood St Andrews

SCORERS: ETHAN 1, MATTHEW 1

Kids played brilliantly today. We won 2-0 and really had to work at it.

Sam was our fantastic goalie again in the first half and Ethan did an awesome job in the second half. They both kept those tries out…..well done to both.

Ethan and Matt were out scorers today with one each in the first half…thanks boys.
The rest of the team did a fantastic group effort, a lot of team work and passing to one another.
The second half they really worked hard to keep the ball up our end but we just couldn’t get it in the goals. Great defending by Eastwood.

Player of the week went to Riley for his consistency……well done mate!

Under 9/4 Round 4

Result: Win 4-0 v Roselea

SCORERS: NIXON 2, WILLIAM 2

What a brilliant game. The kids played SO well. Huge amount of teamwork today, which was fantastic to see. The effort paid off and we won 4-0 today against a great team, Roselea.

Matt was again a fantastic goalie in the first half, so many great saves. Sam was our goalie in the second half. He saved two goals that we thought would have gone in but he came to our rescue.

Will and Nixon got us the win with 2 goals each but not without the help from their fellow teammates.
Sam helped set up one with Will and Ethan and Will helped set up one for Nixon.

Aidan, Riley and Jeremy again helped in defending, Zac, Craig and Shauny got in there and got the ball to set the motion, and Blake, Matt and Ethan moved the ball into position so many times, bringing it up to our end.

Player of the week went to Ethan……fantastic job mate!!

U9/4 Round 3

Result: 0-1 Loss v Hills Hawks

A tough game today and an early start.
Although we forgot our positioning again today and lost, we still played really well.
We had Matt in goalies first half who did a tremendous effort as always and Sam in the second half who shone again today with a brilliant couple of saves.
Will did get a goal in but it wasn’t counted, better luck next time mate.
Aidan, Riley and Jeremy again were great defenders in the back, Ethan and Shauny had brilliant footwork getting that ball off the Hawks and bringing it down to our goals and Nixon, Zac, Blake and Craig showed awesome teamwork.
A think a bit more practice with positioning and learn to talk to each other more on the field would help tremendously.
Keep up the good work boys and girl.

Player went to Aiden today……well done mate.

U9/4 Round 2

Result: 4-1 Win v Ryde Saints United

SCORERS: WILL 3, NIXON 1

GREAT GAME TODAY. WON 4-1 THANKS TO WILL WITH 3 GOALS AND NIXON WITH 1,
BOTH HAD FANTASTIC HELP FROM THEIR TEAM MATES SETTING THEM UP.

BRILLIANT GOALIE SKILLS TODAY WITH SAM IN THE FIRST HALF AND ZAC IN THE SECOND HALF. WELL DONE GUYS KEEPING THOSE GOALS OUT.

A LOT MORE TEAM WORK TODAY AND THEY ALL COMMUNICATED BETTER WITH EACH OTHER, PASSING AND SETTING UP GOALS. THANKS TO ETHAN, SHAUNY AND BLAKE GETTING IN THERE AND GETTING THE BALL OFF THE OTHER TEAM, AIDEN WITH HIS AWESOME DEFENDING AS WELL AS JEREMY.

WE WERE DOWN THREE PLAYERS AGAIN TODAY DUE TO HOLIDAYS.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK WENT TO WILL.

U9/4 Round 1

Result: 0-2 Loss v Beecroft

First game of the season…..here we go.

Although we lost today 2-0, it was a fairly good game. We have a bit of practice to do but the skills are there. We were down three players today due to holidays and injury so the kids got tired quickly and it showed. Good to see they are passing to one another and trying for that goal but we just could quite get it in. Thanks to Matt and Sam for being the goalies today. Thanks to Corey Bridgewater for being our sub today. Great job mate.

Player of the week went to Shauny…….well done girlfriend

Under 9/4 Dural Cup

Result: Win 4:0 v Redfield

Well, what a start to the season.
A new thing for them this year… learning their positions on the field. It really helped today.
Fantastic team work and a great win for them 4-0.
Nixon and Zac got a goal each in the first half with Matt on goals and Will and Matt getting a goal each with Sam on goals.
Great passing and positioning by Craig, Riley, Blake and Jeremy and some awesome tries from Ethan. Shauny and Aiden both getting some brilliant big kicks in there to position the ball for goals.

Great job guys and girl ; )
