Week 16 (8 Aug)
RESULT: WIN 4-2
SCORERS: CADEN 1, RYAN 3
Well……what a game. My throat is so sore from yelling so much.
We played Hills Hawks today and what a great team they are but in the end we were able to win 4-2. They play AWESOME today….all of them. Their team work and consistent efforts paid off big time. Our scorers were Caden with 1 with the help of Blake with a corner kick and Ryan with 3.
We had Aiden as goalie in the first half and what a tremendous effort he made. One save he jumped in the air and caught the ball….just awesome. Brooke was our goalie in the second half and she also did a fantastic job keeping those goals out.
Zac, Will and Ethan were right in there today defending and getting that ball off the Hills Hawks as well as Aiden in the back field keeping the ball down our end.
Nixon and Riley show fantastic teamwork keeping the ball in play and passing to fellow team mates.
Being their last game this season I’m sure they knew the pressure was on to get a good result…..and they pulled through.
It a sad time when it comes to the end of the season, we have all had such an awesome year…not one loss. Fantastic effort from all the kids.
Thank you Coach Stew and Coach Adam for such great coaching and to Matt also helping out with training….without you guys we wouldn’t have gotten the results we did.
Thank you also to the parents who came to the games and consistently supported the U8 REDS shouting from the sidelines.
We were down one player today….Joe with a broken arm, but he came to support his team.

Week 15 (1 Aug)
RESULT: WIN 5-1
SCORERS: ZAC 1, CADEN 3, RYAN 1
A great game to watch this morning especially because the sun was out and keeping us warm.
We had Blake and Zac being our goalies today and they both did a fantastic job…A special mention about a goal saved by Zac, he basically jumped on the ball to stop it….thanks mate.
We won 5-1 thanks to a great teamwork by all and great defending.
Zac got 1 goal after Caden tried 2 or 3 times….a great show of team work, Caden got 3 goals…an awesome effort, and Ryan with his fancy footwork got 1 goal.
Great defending from Aidan in the back field today keeping the play down our end, Brooke with her attacking….not afraid of those boys at all, Will got hit in the head with the ball but moments later shook it off and went on playing…what a trooper, Ethan again on fire with his attacking, and Riley and Nixon showing us teamwork passing to their fellow players.
Great effort by all the team…….only one game to go for us and the season is over : (
Player of the Week went to Caden…..awesome game mate!!! Must be those red shoes : ).
We were down one player today….Joe, hope you wrist gets better mate.

Week 14 (25 July)
RESULT: Draw 5-5
SCORERS: ZAC 1, JOE 2, CADEN 2
Fantastic game today. The boys took a bit to warm up this morning but got there in the end.Macquarie Dragons were a brilliant team to play against…..really made our team work hard.
We had Caden as goalie the first half and Ryan for second half….thanks for your efforts boys.
It was a draw today of 5 -5. Our goal scores were Zac with 1, Joe with 2 (one being a penalty kick set up by Ryan and the other set up with the help from Zac), and Caden with 2.
All our players used their teamwork to defend, attack and set up goals….A great effort from all.
Player of the Week went to Zac for being a fantastic team player and a brilliant game played.
We had two team players off today, Brooke and William.

Week 12 (11 July)
RESULT: WIN 3-2
SCORERS: RYAN 1, BROOKE 2
Early start for us, a bit cold and wet but we still had a great game.
The kids really had to play hard today as Ryde Saints where a great team. We won 3-2 thanks to Brooke with 2 and Ryan with 1. Ryan was just near the goal and Sam his mum on the side lines yells out “Kick a goal Ryan” so being an obedient child he did!
We had great saves from both our goalies today….Riley in the first half did a fantastic job saving heaps going in but one just got away and slipped in. Ethan in the second half also did a fantastic job saving a huge amount….well done guys.
Everyone got in there and did their best today… thank you also to Nixon, Blake, Will, and Aidan for helping the team win this morning with your awesome team work, it really shows.
Player of the Week went to Brooke for getting in there and really being a team player and for the great attacking.
We were down three players today….Caden, Joe and Zac due to holidays.

Week 11 (4 July)
RESULT: WIN 6-0
SCORERS: RYAN 2, BROOKE 1, WILLIAM 1, NIXON 1, ZAC 1
With the sun shining and grounds dry it was a great way to start the game.
We won 6-0 thanks to Ryan 2, Brooke 1, Will 1, Nixon 1, and Zac 1. They ALL showed some great teamwork today and are getting the hang of spreading out and passing to each other. Good set ups were also made by all….really starting to work as a team. Aidan was right in there today….he has really picked up his game. Joe had a couple of tries but just missed and also the other team had a great goalie in the first half. Caden and Ethan had the ball a lot today and showed us great attacking skills …..It helped with getting the ball back to our side and setting up those goals.
Player of the Week went to Caden for great skills with thinking about the play and where to pass.
We were down two players today….hope you get better Riley and Blake.

Week 9 (20 June)
RESULT: WIN 11-1
SCORERS: RYAN 2, JOE 4, CADEN 1, BROOKE 3, ETHAN 1
How fun was our game today….hugely fun!
We won 11-1 today and the kids played awesome.
5 minutes into our game down came the rain but that didn’t stop us playing. The kids absolutely had a ball playing in the rain; sloshing around and getting all muddy. Some fantastic goals from Ryan (2), Joe (4), Caden (1), Brooke (3) and Ethan (1). One of Joe’s tries came from the side and just slid on in to the goal…fantastic shot worth a mention. Thank you to both William and Ryan for being great goalies today although in second half of the game Ryan did look a bit bored there as the action was all down the other side of the field. Aidan, Zac, Blake and Riley helped out their team mates defending and passing the ball to help set up goals. Thanks guys for your effort today. Although the game was wet, cold and muddy and they all looked like drowned rats the kid had an awesome time and you could tell by the hug smiles on their faces.
Player of the Week went to Nixon. Nixon show awesome skills and played a brilliant game today. Makes his manager proud : )

Week 8 (13 June)
RESULT: WIN 2-1
SCORERS: ZAC (1), BROOKE (1)
What as tough game. The Redbacks were a good team to play against that showed determination and teamwork. We won 2-1 but we had to work for it. Brooke scored the first one and Zac scored the second…..thanks guys!!
Joe was our goalie for the first half and definitely kept those goals out. He had a work out today. Brooke was our goalie for the second half; although one got in, she did a tremendous effort and kept the rest out. Caden, Brooke and Riley had some good tries getting that ball into the goals but just missed by a whisker. Caden’s went straight over the goals….a huge kick though. He also showed us some fancy footwork. On ya Cades!!
Blake, Nixon, Aidan and Will also did an awesome job keeping the ball away from the other team, passing to other team mates and keeping the ball in play.
Player of the Week went to Blake. Blake is definitely showing great improvement and is always up for the challenge…………A TRUE CHAMPION!!

Week 7 (6 June)
RESULT: WIN 11-0
SCORERS: JOE (3), RYAN (5), CADEN (2), ZAC (1)
Well after the rain we’ve been having you could see why our team ended up looking like they had brown uniforms instead of white and green. The grounds were extremely muddy not that that stopped the boys play to their full capacity. We won 11-0 thanks to Joe with 3, Caden with 2 (one being from the corner), Ryan with 5 (one with the teamwork from Joe and one with the teamwork from Nixon), and Zac with 1 from just beside the goals. Blake and Riley showed some fantastic passing to fellow team mates while Ethan defended all the way through the game, getting the ball back so many times. William was so close with getting some goals in but just missed, good try though mate.
It was a great turn out even though it is a long weekend. Missed you today Brooke and Aidan.
Player of the Week went to Ethan for the brilliant teamwork with defending and keeping the ball in our possession.

Week 6 (30 May)
RESULT: WIN 12-0
SCORERS: JOE (1), RYAN (5), CADEN (2), ZAC (3), NIXON (1)
Winter definitely was here this morning on the grounds. The clouds came over and blocked the sun but the rain held off. I think a round of coffees would have worked wonders….for us parents that is…not the kids.
Another win for us today 12 – 0 thanks to Caden with 2, Joe with 1, Zac with 3, Nixon with 1 and Ryan with 5. Riley show great teamwork setting up two goals for both Ryan and Zac. Fantastic head skills where shown from William and controlled passing to other teammates from both Blake and Aidan.
Blake was our goalie in the first half and Joe was in the second half….great work guys.
They all had fun this morning and being that the grounds where a big boggy and slippery they didn’t do too bad.
Player of the Week went to Riley….you’re a champion mate. Glad you are back in our team!

Week 4 (16 May)
RESULT: WIN 13-0
SCORERS: JOE (1), RYAN (5), CADEN (4), ETHAN (1), BROOKE (1), ZAC (1)
What a win! You guys rock!!!
Today we won 13-0 thanks to the fantastic goal shooters who were Joe with 1, Ryan with 5 and Ethan with 1, Caden with 4, Brooke with 1 and Zac with 1.
Our goalies today were Aidan for the first half and Nixon for the second half. Both did a fantastic job although Nixon was more distracted by the trees blow in the wind than watching the game. That’s my boy! Lucky the ball was mostly down the other end of the field.
Aidan saved a great try by the other team. Brilliant work!
Great game also played by William and Blake, fantastic passes and defense work from both of them.
I must say, each week they get better and better. They are passing more to each other and really working as a team. I also feel it’s because of the great training seasons we are having. Thanks to Coach Stew and Coach Adam and the help from Matt also for the time and effort you put in for the kids.
Player of the Week went to Ryan….you’re a champion mate. Love your work!
