Game 8 (24/5/08)

Well the team didn’t play very well today. They were excellent instead. We played the only team to beat us so far this season and managed to turn the situation around and win 2-0. A goal was scored in each half. With some excellent saves in goal by Sam Martin in the second half to keep us in the game. Overall though the defense was excellent, shutting down most breaks easily and the midfield kept running up and down the field non stop. The passing between the players to break up the field was exceptional. Well done everybody – Josh Batchelder won the team trophy this week with an excellent effort in the midfield with his tackling and passing. The win puts the team in outright 2nd position on the ladder

Game 7 (17/5/08)
SCORERS: Bray Wickham, Finn Spensley-Armstrong (2)
Well what a great game. It was a see-saw affair. First we went up early with a great goal mouth scramble goal 1-0. Then it was 1-1 from a free kick. Then Glenhaven went up 2-1 for half time. In the second half we managed to get back to 2-2 and then in the last 5 mins score another to win 3-2. This coaching is making my hair go gray. The team is really starting to pass well between each other and defend well. Finn was the trophy winner this week for 2 goals and constantly running hard even with a broken arm in a cast wrapped in bubble wrap. Well done everybody

Excellent game by all the boys and girls. A couple of goals went begging with offside and some just missing by the slightest of margins. Once again the defense was resolute rarely letting the ball get through to the goalie. Still need to work on bunching up and not spreading out over the field – but that will come. Sam Martin won the trophy today for excellent defense and some great runs up the sideline. Excellent effort again everybody.

Game 5 (3/5/08)

Talk about making the coach a nervous wreck and wanting to give up his volunteer job. We went up 1-0 early on, only to be put under pressure for a large proportion of the second half before a equaliser came WPH’s way. Then a break away in the final 2 minutes enabled us to snatch a well deserved but late winner. Caitlyn was the trophy winner this week for great tackling and chasing.

Game 2 (12/4/08)

Wow what a game. Everyone played so well. The attack was inspired with the players passing well between each other with a few good shots that the goalie did well to save. The defence was also resolute in stopping every break made by WRR. In fact our 2 goalie’s (one each half) did not touch the ball at all. Chris Rickard won the best on field today

Game 1 (5/4/08)
After a 1-0 win in the trial match, everyone was keen to play. However a second win was not to be, going down 4-0. Eveybody tried very hard and played well with the second half only a 1-0 result. Well done everybody. I was really proud.
