U13/5 vs Redfield

Week 4 (9 May)
RESULT: Win 5 – 0
SCORERS: Dylan Nuttle (2) , Harry Broughton (2) , Samuel Dethan (1)
A big thank you for the 3, 11/4 players, Josh Pretorius, Harry Broughton and Dylan Nuttle who reinforced our team, diminished by a player injured an another who was sick and neither of which could play. A very big ”Thank You “for your help. Harry and Dylan netted twice. Well done boys. Samuel Dethan our regular No 10 midfielder, scored the fifth goal.
This is our second victory after a loss last week. Our team played very well again and I was quite pleased with the quality of the passing from our players. What I found very exciting and promising with this team, is how they progress in the way they play from one week to the next, whether they win or lose. One of the Redfield officials did say to me, that since the trial game, our team had really progressed. The training is paying off.
The team spirit is great and, win or lose, they always display that unique enthusiasm and never give up attitude.
They are also tough cookies. One of our players, Nick, started the game with a strain in his leg but played the whole game. Jessica injured her foot at the beginning of the second half and stayed on the field and kept going till the end. We did not have any substitute and neither of them was going to let the team down.
Picking the “Player of the Match” was again, a hard decision to make as all played very well. I think I am going to have to ask for a dozen trophies from Mark Genovese ! That would make my choice easier. 2 players won the award this week. The first one, Calvin Pretorius was outstanding in the midfield. He was everywhere, attacking, defending, passing and did not stop at all. The second one, Nick Keough, did not stop either and made life difficult for any Redfield players venturing in our half of the field .His timing on the ball was superb.
Great game and well done to all our champions.
To ANY POTENTIAL PLAYERS ,there are still a couple of spots available in our team. If you are interested, you will be more than welcomed by a good bunch of kids as well as me. I can be contacted on 0438 267 567.
Patrick Dethan,coach 13/5
